More than a decade after the start of the Syrian revolution, thousands of children remain missing Behind every name is a family still searching for answers, still waiting, and still hoping for a reunion.
This missing is a project documents the stories of missing children and the families who continue to look for them. Through investigations, survivor testimonies, official documents, and interviews with relatives, former officials, and witnesses, we seek to uncover what happened to children who disappeared during years of conflict, detention, displacement, and institutional care.
These stories are among the most sensitive and complex in Syria today. They involve unresolved cases, fragmented records, and families carrying years of uncertainty and trauma. Every interview requires careful verification, ethical reporting, and a commitment to protecting the dignity and rights of those involved.
Our work does not end with publication. This is an ongoing effort to preserve evidence, document testimonies, follow new leads, and support the search for truth and accountability. As new information emerges, new names continue to surface, reminding us that this remains an unfinished story.
By keeping these stories alive, we hope to contribute to the search for answers and ensure that missing children are not forgotten.
